香港兒童交響樂團
香港兒童交響樂團於一九九六年由葉惠康博士創辦。團員都經過嚴格選拔，年齡介乎七至十六歲。樂團於一九九七年成功地舉行了其成立慶典音樂會，備受好評。其後每年定期舉行周年音樂會，極受歡迎。曾參與樂團演出獨奏的國內天才兒童包括陸威、楊天媧、楊曉宇、沈文裕、張昊辰、左章及唐韻。二○○一及二○○五年，樂團接受邀請到曼谷舉行了音樂會，分別為泰皇壽辰慶祝活動及國際兒童合唱節演出。樂團團員的專業水平亦在不斷提高，尤以小提琴手已考獲英國皇家音樂學院及聖三一音樂學院的演奏文憑﹙如ATCL、LTCL、LRSM、
FTCL等﹚的精英大不乏人。樂團更獲邀將於本年七月往馬來西亞舉行的國際音樂教育協會第二十七屆會議上，為各國的音樂教育家作示範演出。
葉惠康博士

葉惠康博士對本港合唱音樂及交響樂的教育普及工作均貢獻良多，他致力兒童音樂教育工作已三十多年。他於一九七六年創立泛亞交響樂團，並開創了講座交響樂音樂會之先河。他又是香港兒童合唱團及葉氏兒童合唱團的創辦人，三十多年來活躍於歐、美、澳、亞、非各大洲巡迴演出，歷年在多個國際音樂會議演出及舉行講座，他的「葉氏兒童音樂教育體系」更獲國際音樂教育界之推崇。自一九八二年起，葉博士出任國際兒童合唱及演藝協會主席，策劃和推動國際活動，影響廣闊深遠。葉博士於一九九六年創立了香港兒童交響樂團，培養香港兒童器樂好手，使兒童音樂教育的層面更為擴大

Hong Kong Children's
Symphony Orchestra was established by Dr. Yip Wai-hong in 1996. Members,
aged from seven to sixteen, are recruited under highly competitive open
auditions. In 1997, the Orchestra successfully held its inaugural
concert and organized its annual concert since then with critical
acclaim. Among the young talented musicians being invited from the
mainland China included Lu Wei, Yang Tianwa, Yang Xiaoyu, Shun Wenyu,
Zhang Haochen, Zuo Zhang and Tang Yun. In the year 2001 and 2005, the
Orchestra was invited to perform concerts in Bangkok as part of the
birthday celebration activities for His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej
of Thailand , and for the 2nd International Children's Choral Festival
2005 (Asia Region) respectively. Most of the violinists of the Orchestra
have attained performance diplomas by Royal School of Music or Trinity
College of Music London including ATCL, LTCL, LRSM and FTCL, and the
standard of the Orchestra was enhanced continuously in the past few
years. Moreover, the Orchestra is invited to attend the International
Society of Music Education (ISME) 27th conference in July 2006, having
demonstrate performances in front of the music educators from all over
the world.
Dr. Yip Wai-hong Music
Director / Conductor
Dr. Yip Wai-hong has
contributed to popularizing education on choral and symphonic music in
Hong Kong and has been involved in children's music education for over
30 years. He established the Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra in 1976 and his
presentation of symphony concerts in the form of seminar was regarded as
a pioneering move at that time. Besides, he is the founder of the Hong
Kong Children's Choir and Yip's Children's Choir and has toured actively
to many countries in
Europe , America ,
Australia , Asia and Africa . Dr. Yip has held seminars in numerous
international music conferences and his 'Yip's Children's Music
Education System' has been widely introduced to music organizations
worldwide. He serves as the Chairman of the International Society of
Children's Choral and Performing Arts from 1982 who has organized and
promoted activities which bring extensive influence in the international
music scene. Dr. Yip founded the Hong Kong Children's Symphony Orchestra
in 1996 with the aim to nourish young talents in Hong Kong.
